ABOUT ME

I’m a first-generation college student who graduated from Ball State with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. I then went on to earn my Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan in 2015. Now, after 11 years of business experience, here I am. I’m a wife, a mother to two wonderful kids, and the proud keeper of our family farm. They’ve been with me through all the highs and lows and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

As an acquisitional entrepreneur, I foster existing small businesses and work hard to grow and nurture them, rather than starting new businesses from the ground up—even though I have experience with that in my past. Throughout my 11 years of business experience, I’ve had my fair share of successes, but they didn’t come without failures. I found success starting Pink Leaf: A Learning Company, taking ownership of the Patterson Block Muncie, as well as many other small businesses within a hundred-mile radius of here.

If you take anything away from me, know that the journey is bumpy. Success hasn’t been a linear path in business and in life, but by eating some helpings of humble pie, staying flexible, and learning to face issues head on, I’ve found my own success. I’ve climbed mountains to get where I am and will continue climbing as long as I’m in this field. I know what it’s like to feel like an imposter in your own field and to struggle and come out on the other side. This is what’s made me an advocate for people with similar journeys.

"Ive climbed mountains to get where I am and will continue climbing as long as I'm in this field."

If I had to describe myself in three words, I’d say I'm inquisitive, competent, and a builder. Watching businesses be rebuilt to grow and flourish is a big passion of mine. I want the younger generation and women to be curious and see what this world has to offer them in a time of unprecedented opportunity as older business owners exit the field. The world is their oyster now, and they should embrace it.

I’ve also always harbored a deep passion for spreading knowledge to others. This passion is what led me to Ball State, where I currently serve as the director of the Entrepreneurship Center and an assistant lecturer of management at the Miller College of Business. I’m a member of Rotary, Women in Business Unlimited and the Muncie Chamber of Commerce. As a born and raised Hoosier, I’m dedicated to giving back to this community.

If you feel that you have a business that needs more love and you think I’d be a good fit, or if you think I would be a good fit to speak on your podcast or at a conference, then I’d love to talk!
